Naples Funeral Home is saddened to announce the passing of Rev. Jose L. Del Toro, 57, who departed this life on August 23, 2022.

Rev. Jose Del Toro, TOR, USAF Captain and Chaplain (retired) passed away on August 23rd, 2022. Son of Blanca Rosa Del Toro and the late Victor Del Toro. Brother of Victoria, Nelson, Petra, Sammy and Victor Del Toro, Jr. Loving uncle of 10 nieces and nephews and 10 grand nieces and nephews. A Franciscan priest, Father Jose was moved by the September 11th terrorist attacks to join the United States Air Force as a chaplain and served 12 years of honorable service in the Gulf War, Japan, London and several U.S. bases. Proud of both his country and his Puerto Rican heritage, a man of profound faith in Christ, he lived a life of service, dedication to others, and heroism.

Most recently a resident in Florida, Father Jose was laid to rest in his native neighborhood on Sunday, August 28th. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, August 29th 10:00am, in his childhood parish, Our Lady of Guadalupe at St. Bernard, NYC.
