Francis M. Brown, Sr. passed away on November 23, 2023. Born 5/15/1944, he was the son of the late George E. and Alice Brown of New Britain Connecticut. He attended local schools then joined the airforce at 18 years old. He then worked in small job shops around Connecticut as a machine tool and die maker. He married his first wife Cecile in 1963 and had three beautiful children. He leaves behind his children Francis M. Brown Jr. and wife Kim in Meadville Pennsylvania. Michael Brown and wife Sandra in Tolland Connecticut and Sandra L. Fox and husband Brad in Chaplin Connecticut; he also leaves two step-daughters, Michele Jasinski in Bowden Georgia and Jessica Carraway and husband Chris in Naples Florida; eight grandchildren, Nicholas, Daniel and Shawn Brown, Dalton and Shelby Creach, Mason Wilson, and twins Jacob and Zackary Fox; five great grand-children, Lillianna, Logan, Nathan, Layla and Westley. Also, his best friend Jimmy Mehlmouer and wife Maryann. He was predeceased by his brother George E. Brown 3rd (2002), and sister Linda B. Harris (2014). He leaves behind 3 other siblings Pat Munson of Port Charlotte Florida, William Brown and wife Carol of Bristol Connecticut, Herbert Brown and wife Robbie of Bristol Connecticut.
He moved to Naples Florida in 1986 from Plainville Connecticut with his ex-wife Diane. He was co-owner of Browns Oyster Bar in Naples Florida from 1987 to 1991. He worked for Cable U.S.A., in Naples Florida and at Pelican Wire Company in Naples Florida as maintenance supervisor and retired in September of 2015.
He was great at tinkering and fixing things and would help anyone out if asked. He liked fishing, boating, golfing, and most of all to ride his Harley Davidsons. He belonged to Paradise H.O.G. Chapter and The Freedom Eagles. He was a friend of Bill W’s for over 32 years. He also leaves many beloved friends he met while riding his Harleys.
He will be cremated and his memorial services will be held on Sunday, November 26, 2023, 3:00pm to 5:00 pm at Naples Funeral Home 3107 Davis Blvd., Naples, FL 34104.
An additional ceremony will also be held in Connecticut, details to be determined.

I have great memories of Fran. He welcomed me to the Naples Bike nights when I was new to the community. He was a major contributor in putting together the Memorial/Freedom Bike Run. He will be greatly missed ❤️ Ride hard in heaven Fran!

I remember him as my friendly neighbor in Naples Park. His dog, like ours would from time to time get loose to visit us and I’d bring her back home. Francis was always so kind and polite waving as he passed by on his Harley or truck. My condolences to the family.
