It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Julianne Palmquist Sedgwick, our loving mother and devoted grandmother, who left us peacefully. Julianne was a cherished and vibrant presence in the lives of those who knew her.
She is survived by her daughter Marcey McDonald, son-in-law Eric Whyard, and daughter Stacey Murray, as well as her beloved granddaughters Meghan, Melissa, Alex and Adam. She leaves behind her special nephews – all of her family brought her endless joy and pride.
Active in her earlier years in volunteer work – then a successful businesswoman. She excelled as a account executive with Ohio Magazine then started her own retail store in Medina, Ohio – Strictly Bears was a mainstay on the square for over 20 years. Her customers came from all over the country and adopted collectible and huggable/lovable bears .
In 1994 Julie moved to Naples where she got her first Hole-In-One and earned her Master Points in the Bridge league she participated in. She loved her life in Naples and the friends and neighbors that became lifetime friends. We are appreciative of her social circle who were supportive, attentive and kind to her, especially in her later years.
Julie was an incredible woman – fiercely independent, and a strong role model for all the women in her life. She instilled a strong sense of work ethic and integrity in her family. Timing was everything with Julie – everything needs to be done….”yesterday”. and “her way”! She was confident and you always knew where you stood with Julie
Our mother faced end of life the same way she took on life: With dignity, strength, and even humor. She even made sure that the roof cleaning got scheduled before we said goodbye. Her warmth, wisdom, and unwavering love will be greatly missed.
