Evelyn passed away peacefully at Barrington Terrace in Naples, FL on September 8th, 2024. Her family was at her side holding her hands as she went to be with the Lord. She suffered a stroke just weeks away from her much anticipated 100th birthday.
She was born on September 21st, 1924 in Escanaba, Michigan to Aileen & Leslie LeDuc. She spent a very happy childhood in Escanaba with her sisters Clara & Irma LeDuc and later with her sister’s children- her nieces & nephews Bobby John, David, Bonnie, Jim E, Joanne, & Carol.
She graduated from Escanaba High School and immediately moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin where she met her husband Eugene (Gene).
She raised her family in Milwaukee & Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin while working for 30 years at the Continental Can Company in Milwaukee as a Quality Control Inspector. She enjoyed happy family times camping, boating, and water skiing. She was an accomplished artist as well, specializing in pastel art and family portraits.
Evelyn was predeceased by husbands Eugene Gross, Walter Alexander & Joseph Baudino, and children Jeffery G. Gross & Richard G. Gross.
She is survived by her beloved children Larry G. Gross (partner Harriett Barrett), Michael G. Gross (fiancee Pam Buskuskie) and Renee G. Greefkes (husband Frank); beloved grandchildren Jason Gross, Lana Callahan, Dennis Gross, Jeremy Gross, Lauren Gross, Justin Gross, Danielle Ainsworth, Joseph Greefkes, Staycie Olejniczak, Vincent Greefkes, Rachel Lightheart, Brianna Greefkes, Grant Greefkes, & Jacob Greefkes; and 20 beloved great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held on her 100th birthday on September 21st, 2024 at 2:00pm at Mount Morris Lake Park.
Internment will be at Glen Oakes Cemetery (formerly Evergreen Cemetery) in Glendale, Wisconsin.
In lieu of flowers, donations may made in her memory to Avow Hospice, 1095 Whippoorwill Lane, Naples, FL 34015.
