Mr. A. Kouwe Hofen

A. Kouwe Hofen, 85, of Bowling Green, passed away March 7, 2020 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 21, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. at Bibb-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green. Burial will be in St. Clement Cemetery with Rev. Jonathan Clark officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 -2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Kouwe was born September 28, 1934 to Henry E. and Ada Kouwe Hofen in Knox County, Missouri. He married Yvonne Catherine Kniess on February 7, 1959 at St. Clement Catholic Church. She survives.
Kouwe spent his early years in rural Knox County, and moved to Louisiana as a young boy. He graduated Louisiana High School in 1952. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, working in the Post Office. He worked for 50 years at John Deere dealerships beginning with Louisiana Farm Supply and later for the dealership in Moscow Mills. Kouwe was very talented in his work and always liked doing something constructive. He enjoyed spending time with his family and telling others about his family’s accomplishments. Upon retirement, he enjoyed traveling around the U.S. with his wife and family.
Along with his wife, he is survived by sons: Rick Hofen (Jeri) of Columbia, Missouri, and Donnie Hofen (Judy) of Bowling Green; daughter, Renee Schenk (Joe) of Labadie, Missouri; grandchildren: Brandy Luebrecht (Kyle), Michelle Worthington (Justin), Tyler Hofen, Will Schenk, Henry Schenk, and George Schenk; great-grandchildren: Mason Luebrecht, Letty Luebrecht, Rylee Worthington, and Myla Worthington; brother Glenn Hofen of Hewitt, Texas; sister Mary Alice Donaldson (Gene) of Derby, Kansas; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Kouwe was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Kristen Hofen; and a sister-in-law, Georgia Hofen.
Pallbearers will be Justin Worthington, Kyle Luebrecht, Darrell Cobb, Curtis Cobb, Jeff Reid, and Mark Kniess.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, the American Diabetes Association or the Kristen Hofen Memorial FFA Scholarship Fund.
