Dr. Brian Geary

Dr. Brian Geary of Naples, Florida, passed away on July 26, 2026, at the age of 83.
Born on December 19, 1942, Brian was the son of the late Veron Geary and Josephine
Iorio Geary. He lived a life marked by dedication to his patients, service to his country,
and his love of family.

Brian was a graduate of Morristown High School in Morristown, New Jersey, George
Washington University, and Georgetown University School of Medicine. He specialized
in Obstetrics and Gynecology and enjoyed a medical career spanning more than four
decades. Throughout those years, he estimated that he delivered more than 10,000
babies, bringing joy and hope to countless families.

In addition to his medical career, Brian proudly served his country in the United States
Navy for more than 23 years, retiring with the rank of Captain. He considered his
military service among the greatest honors of his life and remained deeply proud to be a
veteran.

Following his retirement from the Navy, Brian lived and practiced medicine in
Moorestown, New Jersey. In retirement, he enjoyed life in Ocean View, Delaware,
before eventually making Naples, Florida, his full-time home.

Above all, Brian cherished his friends and family. He is survived by his children, Kevin
Geary and his wife, Andrea; Christine Medvetz and her husband, Marc; and Mark Geary
and his wife, Kristen. He was a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren: Hunter
Geary, Meredith Medvetz, Jake Medvetz, Hayden Geary, Kamryn Geary, Amelia Geary,
and Beatrix Geary. He took pride in their accomplishments and enjoyed spending time
with them.
Brian is also survived by his partner, Alyce Tregenza; his half-brother, Wayne Geary; his
half-sister, Susan Anlas; and numerous other relatives and friends who will miss him
dearly.

Brian embraced life with enthusiasm and a sense of humor. He was an avid fan of the
Philadelphia Eagles (Go Birds) and the Philadelphia Phillies. He enjoyed reading,
singing, and participating in local theater productions. He also had a well-known sweet
tooth and would never pass up a bowl of ice cream or a milkshake!

The family finds comfort in the memories they have of Brian’s life and in the remarkable
legacy he leaves behind—as a physician, naval officer, father, grandfather, partner, and
friend. He will be remembered by all who met him.
