Joe and his wife, Barb, were wonderful neighbors. Always friendly and dedicated to creating a caring community in our neighborhood. Joe was our neighborhood HOA representative. He handled any conflicts with dignity and respect. He will be dearly missed.

I am so saddened to know that we will not have Joe’s infectious laugh on the earth anymore. We started a job and then retired from that job on exactly the same days. He was a kind person who helped those around him rise to his level. He will be missed. Love to his family.

Joe was a good friend. He always brought equal amounts of grace and gravitas to conversation as well as debate. He was a supportive, consoling, and understanding colleague. His guidance was invaluable to me. I shall miss his insight and his good humor.

Joe was the best cheerleader and support for me as I navigated faculty leadership at SCC. His emails, texts, and conversations meant so much. I am grateful to have worked with Joe and to have called him a friend. I'm so very sorry to hear of his passing. My thoughts are with his family. Please know that he was a wonderful leader and colleague. He is missed.

Joe’s integrity was an inspiration, and he carried with him a quiet greatness that lifted up everyone in the room. When those around him fell short of his expectations, his response was disappointment rather than anger, a response that made room for improvement grounded in his conviction that we could do better—and we did.

It was a privilege to work with him. And that light still shines.

I will miss seeing Joe walking in our neighborhood with Barb by his side. His smile was infectious with just a hint of mischief.

I am sending much love and sympathy to Joe's family. Joe was the epitome of kindness, generosity, and love. He guided many of us here at SCC, and we are all the better for it. I used to call him Poppa Joe because I could always rely on him for a chat, advice, a smile, and a 'dad' joke. He will be deeply missed.

Joe lived an inspiring life of honor, love, and commitment to God, family, friends, and country. He embodied Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam.

He guided and consoled me during one of the most difficult years of my life, and when that year was over, he still showed up for me in countless ways. I'm not unique, though, in that experience, as he led and inspired so many in his community. I will carry his words of wisdom and acts of integrity with me always.

What an enormous loss, given how immeasurably we gained from him. My deepest condolences to his family, whom he cherished above all, and to his friends.

If the true measure of greatness is being kind under pressure (I suggest it is.), then Joe is greatest man I have had the pleasure of knowing as a colleague and a friend. He taught kindness in his thoughts, words, and deeds.
