Rita Marlene Metzger was a caring wife, mother, nana and friend. She left this world peacefully on July 14, 2024, at the age of 86, after a difficult battle with cancer.
Rita was born to Michael and Philomena Juliano on May 17, 1938. While attending college, she met her husband, David Metzger and were married on September 8,1962.
They had three daughters, Rebecca, Rachel, and Jackie.
Rita loved cooking, sewing, needlepoint, and especially entertaining. She loved to be the life of the party and often held large gatherings in her homes in Kenilworth, IL and Fond du Lac, Wi. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was very gregarious, outgoing and generous. Rita loved people, and her house was a revolving door to anyone in need. She was committed to the community and ran an unwed mother’s home as well as fostered several children over the years.
Rita was predeceased by her parents, half-sister, half-brothers and son Michael.
She is survived by daughters, Rebecca Leonardi (Mark), Rachel Sakitis (Pat), Jackie Kruyne (Jack), her grandchildren, Mitchel, Ian, Jake, Iza, Laura (Cameron), David (Kim), Julian, Jade, and great grandchildren Spencer and Savanna.
A Memorial Service is scheduled for August 3, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Unity Church, 2000 Unity Way in Naples, Florida.

Rita came into our lives through Marriage Encounter many, many years ago. ONE VERY SPECIAL SOUL. A TRUE LOVING, CARING friend. Our very deepest sympathy to David and family. Our lives have been impacted by her presence and presents. God be with this beautiful soul.
