Betty P. Gallo

Betty P. Gallo of Deer Park, New York and Naples, Florida passed away peacefully March 7, 2023, in Naples, Florida. Betty was born in 1928 in New York City. She was a modern educated woman ahead of her time.

She met, fell in love, and married Jerry Gallo in 1949. In addition to being a devoted mother, Betty went on to become a successful businesswoman after being the first in
her family to attend college at Hunter College in NYC. Betty spent 50 years as a valued employee at Estée Lauder Companies where she was well liked and respected. After
retiring, she continued working for the Lauder family as a consultant until the young age of 93. Betty led by example; she was a determined, independent, savvy woman who was always in charge.

Betty loved an adventure and spent much of her free time traveling with her loved ones seeing the wonders of the world; from swimming with the dolphins to an African safari,
Alaskan adventures, and traveling 6 degrees south of the Arctic Circle to see her favorite animal, the polar bear. She enjoyed vacations in Italy, China, Egypt, Israel, France, Mexico, the Caribbean, Hawaii, Disney World, and Bermuda to name a few.

Betty and Jerry’s first big trip was driving across country visiting the states. Early in their marriage she also lived in Cuba, where Jerry was stationed with the Navy.
Some of Betty’s favorite things included walking on the Jones Beach boardwalk, going out to eat, and dancing with her husband to big bands. Betty was a Bobby Soxer and
avid fan of Frank Sinatra. Betty always had the finest taste and never left the house without looking her best. You could always go to her for good solid advice. She wanted
to teach her children and grandchildren about culture with excursions to NYC, Broadway plays, and museums. She was a great cook and her signature dishes included almond bread, chicken cutlets, meatballs, potato latkes, and corn fritters. Betty was married to her beloved husband Jerry for 57 years and is now reunited with him dancing in heaven. She is survived by her two devoted daughters, Patrice and Danielle, who were there with her until the end. She is survived by her one and only grandson Jared, married to Amanda with their three children Ava, Aubree, and Leo,
who always brought a smile to her face. Also survived by her adoring granddaughter Morgan, who is graduating medical school in 2 years. Betty’s fondest last wish was to
see Morgan become a doctor. She is survived by her dearest brother Leonard Pelletiere, 93, and his loving wife Barbara, who hosted weekly get-togethers over her many years snow-birding in Naples. Predeceased by her siblings, Della, Anna, Mary,Rocco, and her niece Mary. Her wonderful nieces and nephews will surely miss her.

The entombment will be held on Monday, March 20th, 2023 at 11am at Pinelawn Memorial Park located at 2030 Wellwood Ave in Farmingdale, NY. In lieu of flowers please make donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, World WildLife Fund, and Guiding Eyes for the Blind.

D- A grove of trees symbolizes rebirth and renewal. They create the very air we breathe and give life. We are planting a grove to celebrate your Mom.
